Leehong Kim lives in Korea and operates Leehong Kim Architects in both Seoul and New York City. Work focuses on both architectural and conceptual works integrated to the given spatial condition.
Leehong received his BS in Architectural Engineering from Yonsei University (Seoul, Korea) in 2004 and Master in Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design in 2009. His work experiences include Samoo Architects & Engineers and Steven Holl Architects. Since opening of Leehong Kim Architects, he has led various projects in both Korea and U.S. He participated in the Gwangju Design Biennale 2009 and APMAP 2016 of the Amorepacific Museum of Art, and recently received the Korean Young Architect Award 2018.
He is a registered architect in New York state and a LEED accredited professional. He is currently an assistant professor at the Graduate School of Architecture & Urban Design, Hongik University and serves as a Seoul Public Architect.
김이홍은 건축가이자 교육자(홍익대학교 건축도시대학원 조교수)이다. 연세대학교 건축공학과와 하버드대학교 건축대학원을 졸업한 후 7년간 삼우종합건축사사무소와 Steven Holl Architects에서 실무를 익혔으며, 김이홍 아키텍츠를 개소하여 한국과 미국을 오가며 다양한 프로젝트를 진행 중이다. 광주디자인비엔날레 2009와 아모레퍼시픽미술관의 APMAP 2016에 참여하였고, 2018년 젊은 건축가상을 수상하였다. 미국건축사와 LEED AP이며, 현재 서울시 공공건축가로 활동하고 있다.
